🍳 Eggs are a fabulous fertility food, containing lots of nutrients needed for preconception health, and health during pregnancy too.

🌟 They’re a good source of choline, which is hugely important for egg health and foetal development and is often depleted.

🌟They’re also a good source of protein and fats to help balance hormones and blood sugar levels.

🍳 I love eggs in a frittata so that I can add lots of veggies and get all the good stuff in one go!

πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ How do you like your eggs?

Part of preconception planning often involves supplements because we want to make sure we’re getting enough nutrients.

πŸ‘‰ Please make sure that what you’re taking is safe and effective.

🀰 Pregnancy is an incredibly nutrient-hungry process and your body needs good nutrition in preparation.

πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Many of the well-known, high street brands are full of fillers and bulking agents... no thank you!

πŸ‘€ Google ingredients on the pot and it will usually flag up any hidden nasties.

πŸ’Š I have a few favourite brands that I recommend to clients but it always depends on what that client needs.

πŸ‘‰ For example, a client might need more/less iron, might have thyroid issues that necessitate an iodine-free supplement, or might be really stressed and need higher doses of certain nutrients.

πŸ‘‰ Also worth noting that some nutrients come in different forms - folic acid and folate, for example (really important of you have an MTHFR gene).

πŸ€“ A little planning before you start trying to conceive can make a huge difference. (Excuse the typo on the post πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ)

🀰Not only to how easily you manage to get pregnant...

πŸ‘ΆπŸ» But also to the health of your baby.

πŸ’•Even if you’re months or even a year away from trying to conceive, it’s not too early to think about optimum reproductive health.

πŸ‘‰ and let’s not forget that looking after your reproductive health is important regardless of whether you’d like to get pregnant in the future or not.

πŸ‘† Swipe for some of the things I’d be looking at supporting in any client that came to me for fertility or hormonal support.

πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ If you’d like to chat, get in touch at laura@lmnutrition.co.uk

πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Why three months?

πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ That’s how long it takes for a follicle to mature.

🀰 Which is why it also TAKES 12 MONTHS TO MAKE A BABY! (Not counting the time it takes to get pregnant)

πŸ’« So your health right now could affect your baby’s health if you conceive in 3 months time.

πŸ‘‰ But this is also why it takes 3 months to change your cycle - a lot rides on the health of the follicle.

πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ So what are you waiting for! What you do today can manifest how you feel in 3 months time!

πŸ‘‰ Let’s get going! Contact me for a free discovery call at laura@lmnutrition.co.uk

🍫 Yep, you read that right. Dark chocolate is a HORMONE HERO.

🍫 Craving chocolate before and during your period? Tuck in! (In moderation 😬)

🍫 Dark chocolate is high in anti-inflammatory compounds, antioxidants and polyphenols.

πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ But the real hormone superstar is its magnesium content!

πŸ‘‰ Magnesium is nature’s tranquilliser and can help ease cramping.

🍫 Choose 80% cocoa or higher
🍫 Team it with a little protein and/fat
🍫 Choose organic - this is actually quite important with chocolate. My favourite brand is @montezuma (if only this was sponsored!)

πŸ˜‹ My favourite way to eat it is dipped in nut butter - it is unreal!
